What is SheTech Explorer Day?

SheTech Explorer Day is a conference for high school girls 9th through 12th grade. This day-long event includes workshops, hands-on STEM activities, and a team TechChallenge. You will experience technology in a fun atmosphere, meet STEM role models, and about how your dreams can become a reality in tech.

What if I’m not taking STEM classes?

We believe that today every company is a technology company. SheTech demonstrates that no matter what you are passionate about, technology is part of it. Check it out…you might be surprised! #YourDreamsInTech

When is registration for the event?

General registration begins on January 22, 2020 and will close on April 3, 2020. Space is limited so sign up now!

What time do I check in?

You need to check in between 8:00 – 8:50 am.  You will need to be registered, pick up your badge/bag/shirt, and be seated by 9:00am for the Kick-off Meeting.

Where do I check in?

Registration tables are just inside the main entrance to the Mountain America Expo Center at the north end of the building.

Where do I bring with me?

Bring your waiver!  That’s it. We’ll be providing you with lunch, some fun give always and an opportunity to explore some really cool things. We also encourage you to bring your cell phone if you have one, if not it’s ok it is not required.

Do I need to bring my lunch?

You can if you would like, however a sandwich lunch will be provided.  A limited quantity of vegetarian and gluten-free meal options will be available, but you may want to bring your own food for lunch if you have further dietary restrictions.

Can I bring my cell phone?

Yes!  There will be some activities throughout the day where you can use your phone. We also encourage you to post photos on social media  If you don’t have a cell phone – that’s ok!

Can I bring a parent with me?

Most girls come with other students from their school. If a parent is bringing you, he or she can drop you off between 8:00-8:30 am and pick you up at 2:30 pm. Parents are not allowed to attend workshops or participate in the TechChallenge. We want all girls to experience SheTech with other students and trained mentors.

What time will we be done?

The activities will be done by 2:30pm.

What will I do during the day?

Your day will be very interactive and allow you to experience a lot of really cool things.  You’ll start the morning with sessions where you can explore STEM topics in a workshop setting as well as visit the TechZone where Utah companies offer hands-on demonstrations. After lunch, you’ll spend the afternoon completing a team Tech Challenge where you will be compete for prizes.

Where is Explorer Day?
